Grow With NCOHC
NCOHC strives to bring diverse groups of students together to prepare our next generation of advocacy-focused professionals with the tools they need to work toward a more equitable oral health future. Through an active preceptor support model and direct engagement with NCOHC initiatives, students are able to further their understanding of structural solutions to the barriers that far too many face when seeking access to oral health care services.

Qualifications & Eligibility
Our internship program is available to all levels of students with high school diplomas and a strong passion for oral public health. Current students at the undergraduate, graduate, professional, Ph.D. level, and recent graduates are also eligible.
All applicants must be able to work remotely on their own supplied computer and have a reliable internet source available to complete the internship experience.

Interning with NCOHC
You won’t find yourself in another paper-pushing coffee run internship – as an NCOHC intern, you will help create real, lasting change. Our interns work at the intersection of their unique interests and the most pressing policy, community organizing, and thought leadership initiatives on the NCOHC agenda.
Our Objectives
- Work with students to broaden their experiences, including opportunities to work towards equity and access in oral health care in North Carolina.
- Directly impact the pipeline for oral health-focused advocates for the future.
- Provide a comprehensive, well-rounded experience to all levels of students.
NCOHC aims to work with various academic institutions across North Carolina in order to bring diverse groups of students together to educate, inspire and support pipeline development. By bringing students together to work with NCOHC, we are able to add additional capacity to support specific projects that align with NCOHC’s strategic priorities.
NCOHC Interns Create Change
NCOHC’s past interns have expressed that their experience at NCOHC opened their eyes and minds to systems-level changes to improve access and equity in oral health care. NCOHC allows students to explore their topics of interest and flex their skills writing, editing, and presenting, all while having a preceptor and team to engage with and learn from.
